Welcome to Portsmouth Ski Servicing. Are your climbing skins beginning to look worn and the glue dirty and beginning to ball up? Have they begin to lose their grip? Are your skis or snowboard not running as fast as they were? We can help!

Our Services

Ski/snowboard servicing - £50

This service includes: base clean with solvent & brush before scraping and subsequent hot waxing. The fresh wax layer is then scraped and brushed to add texture, all using premium Holmenkohl tools. Optional Zardoz wax layer to finish. Can collect from PO and SO postcodes by arrangement (+£5 including return delivery).

Ski/end of season servicing - £50

This service includes everything in the normal service except the wax layer is extra-generous and not scraped afterwards: this will protect your bases and edges when being stored during the summer and autumn. Bindings can also be set to DIN 0 to reduce the strain on the springs as well, if preferred. Can collect from PO and SO postcodes by arrangement (+£5 including return delivery) £45.

Climbing skins “refresh” - £30

Your skins will be cleaned on the furry side with solvent before the glue is refreshed with a hot iron and bald patches repaired. Optional hot wax to finish in order to make touring smoother.

Skins stripped, cleaned and re-glued with fresh adhesive.

Climbing skins cut to fit your skis - £35

Skin cutting: skins cut to fit using POMOCA tools. Can collect from PO and SO postcodes by arrangement (+£5 including return delivery).

Skin savers – cut to length for your skins. Ideal for storage to prevent dirt and dust from accumulating. *for 1 x 2m strip inc. p&p

About Me

I decided on a change of career at the last minute in 2020 which led me to train as a ski tech. I spent a season in Verbier running a small business whilst training as a BASI instructor. I’ve now moved to Portsmouth permanently and have a home workshop offering ski servicing and climbing skin repair, waxing and re-gluing. I’m always willing to discuss any repair work you might need doing so please feel free to call or text and I’d be glad to help.
